Freiburg to Host the 2026 European Deaf Swimming Championships

The European Deaf Sports Organisation (EDSO) and the German Deaf Sports Association (DGSV) are proud to announce that the 2026 European Deaf Swimming Championships will take place in the vibrant, eco-friendly city of Freiburg im Breisgau from October 25 to 31, 2026.
Marking a grand return to Germany 16 years after the Dortmund 2010 games, this premier event will gather Europe’s elite deaf athletes to compete for personal bests and championship medals. The competitions will be hosted at the state-of-the-art Westbad Freiburg, a modern indoor facility featuring a competition-standard 50-meter pool designed to offer optimal training and racing conditions.
Freiburg—renowned for its openness, sustainability, and exceptional hospitality—stands ready to provide a world-class environment for international sportsmanship. Led by DGSV President Katharina Pape, EDSO President Iosif Stavrakakis, and Mayor Martin W. W. Horn, the host city welcomes athletes, coaches, and fans to experience an inspiring week dedicated to sporting excellence, friendship, and “Deaf Power”.

- Registration Deadline: Final athlete lists, transport forms, and accreditation photos must be submitted by September 15, 2026.
